Photography is an instant drawing.
To draw, you start from a blank page to fill in with different elements.
Taking a photo is a drawing in 1/500th of a second.
Everything that matters needs to be in the right place and everything that doesn’t matter must be taken out.
My type of photography takes place in the streets.
I hunt for this extraordinary moment captured in everyday life.
My ultimate objective is to find a composition pleasing for the eye inside chaos.
My journey to find elegance in simplicity suggested black and white – analog or digital – as the main photography format.
All my photos are candid, unless stated otherwise.
BIOGRAPHY
Laurent Bourrelly
Born and raised in Paris, France.
I attended Skidmore College, located in New York, USA from 1990 to 1994.
After completing a Bachelor Of Arts, I worked in marketing and branding until coming back to Paris in 1997.
Since 2004, I specialize in Digital Marketing and live in Andorra with my wife and two kids.
Photography is not a simple hobby. I want to share my vision of the world around me. There is a need to document the present for future generations. Hopefully, my photos will make sense in a few decades.
The Leica M2 equipped with a 40mm f/2 Summicron, and loaded with a roll of Ilford Delta 400 is my favorite camera.
However, since using digital cameras is mandatory to stay saine nowadays, I shoot with a Leica M10 Monochrom.
